As a military family, we don’t get to choose where we live or for how long. But because we are Life Learners, we can take time others use for public school and head to the ocean!

It’s a bit of a drive for three little humans, Last Born is not quite three, Middle Born is four and First Born is seven. Just the kids and I drive *home* to Nova Scotia from Ontario, trying to get through Quebec as quickly as we can so we can spend time with some “military family” living in New Brunswick on the way.

Taking the kids to my home province is something that fills my heart. Spending time with people who love us and welcome us with open arms no matter how long it’s been since our last visit… There’s nothing like it .

This summer we spent five weeks and I got to take these Little Life Learners to all the places I went as a child. From the Fisheries Museum in Lunenburg to New Ross Farm in New Ross, we were rocking the tourist thing.

But then we also got to explore some new things, like seeing the Five Islands from the top of a lighthouse, walking across a suspension bridge hidden on the NS/NB border, visiting the giant Shediac Lobster and seeing the Confederation Bridge in all her glory.

It was an amazing trip of memory making moments.
